Parking areas can be secured by using a variety of CCTV, gating and automated bollard systems, including the use of RFID tags for employees or campus staff, while ANPR cameras record entry and exit times for all vehicles. Serviced offices can be protected with standard smoke point detectors and secured with CCTV and access control. If a fire breaks out a sprinkler system can be activated while occupants escape thorough clearly marked doors with emergency exit signs. Data can be held on servers in a separate data hall to ensure that no data is lost in the event that equipment is damaged within the office itself. High value assets can be protected with tracking tags, providing real-time location awareness. If an asset’s position changes, or the tag is tampered with, an alarm can be activated.

Data halls or server rooms can be protected from fire with the use of very early smoke detection apparatus or VESDA system. Fires can be extinguished by flooding the room with an inert gas suppression agent from both above and below, suppressing the fire without harming occupants or damaging any equipment. Pressure venting prevents over pressure of the room should the suppression system activate. CCTV provides security and access control can secure entry to the room, as well as each server row, and each individual rack. Individual server racks can be protected with a condensed aerosol suppression system, that can extinguish fire locally within the rack, without the need to flood the entire room with a suppression agent.
